The oldest inhabited continent in the world - Australia

The first time you set foot on Australian soil you will witness one of the most extraordinary experiences not only of your life, but of humanity.

Imagine being greeted by the spirit of Australia that will invade you and endure during your experience. You have stepped on the soil of the continent with approximately 60,000 years of continuous habitation to date.

The mortal remains of Mungo Man and Mungo Lady dating back about 40,000 years are buried in the interior of the continent in the lake that bears their name, Lake Mungo.

This fact led to the establishment of the Mungo National Park and to recognize the Willandra Lakes (Willandra Lakes Region – World Heritage Area) as a World Heritage Site.

Paintings on the rocks dating back approximately 60,000 years have been a determining factor for scientists and scholars of the subject to conclude that Australia has been inhabited uninterruptedly since that distant time.

It has also been shown that the remains belong to the Australian Aboriginal race.

The past, present and emerging Australian Aborigines have been and will be the guardians, caretakers and are recognized as the true owners of this land, Australia.

ALWAYS

For Aborigines it means that they themselves, the Aborigines have been, are and will always be the owners of this land.
